Ten paint and design trends that you will not want to miss in 2020

With a new year around the corner but enough time before the holidays, it's the perfect time to start a new project. Like painting that wall that has been staring at you for months.  Perhaps Pinterest has inspired you to take a risk on color but you are not sure how it'll translate in your home.

I had a chance to sit at presentation with Lauren Battistini, a color specialist, with LFB Color at  SRH Paint Company in Katy, Tx. She talked about the top paint and design trends for 2020. Here are ten fresh home trends that will help you with your current home design conundrum and provide you with inspiration for your next project.

Benjamin Moore Paint Colors For 2020

When it comes to choosing a paint color  Steve Hill, owner of SRH Paint company, suggests picking your paint color last. When you wait to choose the perfect color it’s easier to match any changes in decor.

According to Lauren, these Benjamin Moore colors are key picks for the upcoming year:

This color is from Benjamin Moore’s Color Stories Collection. This warm brown color is excellent when paired with neutral beiges, and is the perfect color for an accent wall in your bedroom or living room,

A super intense color it's best suited in small doses in the form of accessories or accent pillows.  If you want to paint a wall, Lauren suggests taking this bold color outside to the front door. You will surely be the talk of the neighborhood with the stylish, punch of color!

Yes, it’s baaaaack! This trend is definitely a love it or leave it.  Wallpaper can be a wonderful way of bringing texture into smaller rooms, like the powder bathroom. Using large prints or bold colors can also be used to make a statement in bedrooms or living rooms.

Forget the hotel or spa for that getaway. You can create your own oasis by updating your backyard. Backyards are no longer just for the children’s playpen. No, this year they are being transformed into a staycation just steps away.

This video shows how you can accomplish this in your own home.

Marble Finishes

Marble has always been one of those stones that screams luxury.  For homeowners that engage in this trend you can be assured that it will not be something you regret when it’s time to sell. Marble is a trend that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Stone finishes like marble do have some upkeep. Don’t care for the upkeep, then look to quartz to give you a similar look.

Using black in the kitchen can seem pretty intimidating, especially since so many kitchens are white wonderlands. However, this dark color can bring a modern and minimalist design, especially when paired with muted or even glossy applicants.
